Give the gift of reading

Every child should have access to books. GIVE ONE FOR THE BOOKS pairs donated new books with needy organizations or underfunded libraries in local communities.

What:

GIVE ONE FOR THE BOOKS couples author events with a book-donation opportunity. Whether it’s a book club or school, authors and readers work together to spread the joy of reading. As a part of these author events, new books are collected and donated to a local underserved organization.

How:

  1. New books are collected at author visits. (Cindy will help make this very easy.)
  2. Cindy Callaghan works with the school or book club to determine an appropriate local underserved organization, such as an underfunded school library, community center or women’s and children’s shelter.
  3. Cindy Callaghan delivers the books.

FAQs:

How does it work?

It’s simple. For in-person events, students and book club members are encouraged to purchase an extra copy of Cindy’s current book to donate.  This is often done on the pre-order form in a manner similar to the way one can donate Girl Scout Cookie to the troops.  Cindy will deliver the donated books to a local organization.

How do I participate?

Interested schools or book clubs may contact Cindy Callaghan at Cindy@CindyCallaghan.com to make an in-person or via Skype author visit request.

Why should I participate?

Sharing the love of reading is an extra-special gift for those who don’t have access to books.

Here’s a round up of all of the books donated during my Lost in London tour.

Example:
