AUTHOR CINDY CALLAGHAN ANNOUNCES TWO-BOOK DEAL WITH SIMON & SCHUSTER AND TV DEAL WITH AMAZON STUDIOS

The Simon & Schuster tween author will release her fourth and fifth book through Simon & Schuster’s Aladdin M!x imprint in 2015

January 9, 2014— Author Cindy Callaghan (Lost in London, Just Add Magic) announced today that she has signed a two-book deal with Simon & Schuster’s Aladdin M!x. These will be the Delaware author’s fourth and fifth books with the imprint. The two new projects will be “destination” books like 2013’s successful Lost in London and the upcoming Lucky Me (July 2014), which is set in Ireland. Callaghan revealed yesterday in an online contest that the new books will take place in Paris and Rome.

“I’m already deep into the draft of the first of the two new destination books, which is titled Pardon My French, and features both a search throughout Paris to look for clues to get up close and personal with an epic rock band,” Callaghan said. “So far it’s fun and zany. And I have several exciting ideas for the Rome book, which is yet to be titled.”

Callaghan is also working with Amazon Studios on an original series based on her debut novel, Just Add Magic. This live-action series, for kids aged 6-11, is currently in development. “The project with Amazon is exciting not only because I get to see my beloved characters from Just Add Magic come to life, but also because I get to be part of the development, which is a wonderful learning experience,” Callaghan said.

Callaghan couples her book launches with a book donation program she created, named Give One for the Books. Since the launch of Lost in London on October 15, 2013, Callaghan, in cooperation with school visits, has donated more than 200 books to organizations serving the needs of children.
